GICLEE PRINTS

Giclée is the term commonly used for the world's most advanced digital fine art printmaking processes. Giclée (pronounced zhee-klay) is a French word meaning "a spurt of liquid".

Giclée prints are produced using the finest quality archival materials and the latest digital technology. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans. Then they are individually produced using sophisticated inkjet printers. Paper or canvas is mounted on a drum, and as the drum rotates at a high speed, the printer squirts millions of microscopic droplets of ink per square inch onto the specially treated canvas or paper.

Giclées printed on canvas are treated with a UV light protecting layer and will keep their brilliant color for decades. They, of course, should not be left in direct sunlight, excessive heat or moisture. They can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

The quality of the Giclée print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes, and Giclées are commmonly found in museums and art and photographic galleries. Most people are astonished by the depth, sharp detail, and saturated colors the first time they view a Giclée print. It gives the feel of a painting!

GALLERY WRAP

Gallery wrap refers to a print on canvas that has been extended by a two inch reverse image around all the edges in order to be wrapped around the sides of wooden bars. It creates a three dimensional image to be hung on the wall without a frame.

These print sizes are for standard sized frames. Some prints require cropping to
fit the frame. If you prefer, you can order
"full frame" prints, which are not cropped.
